Perovskite (PK) materials have been agitating the solar scientific and industrial community since the discovery of their photovoltaic properties in 2012. These materials represent an opportunity for a major technological leap forward by paving the way for photovoltaic cells to achieve conversion efficiencies of more than 30%, with little additional cost, by combining them with a lower band-gap material such as silicon (Si). Scientific and technical progress is rapid in this field with a certified world record currently held by HZB with 32.5% on 1 cm².
