Liten's research teams work across a vast portfolio of renewable energy technologies. Cutting-edge photovoltaic technologies are developed at INES, the French National centre for solar research and R&D with Hydrogen and Biomass activities being managed from the LITEN's main site in Grenoble, Rhone-Alpes.

European research institute to span the entire value chain from the
development of materials to pre-industrialization, Liten’s unique
combination of human and technological resources helps its industrial
partners achieve competitive advantage through the development of
cutting-edge renewable energy, energy efficiency and novel material
technology. The institute builds long-term relationships with
its industrial partners that range in size from SMEs to multinationals,
in order to develop a wide range of technologies that include the
development of new and advanced materials, components as well as the

research contracts a year
order to reach these objectives, the institute is able to draw on the
strength of 14 purpose-built technology platforms as well as over 1000
scientists, technicians and support staff. The combination of this
enviable array of equipment (combined annual budget of 140M€) and the
scientific expertise of Liten’s scientific teams results in a powerful
R&D tool that can help overcome complex technological hurdles and
help build the products, components and industrial processes of the
