Advanced forecasting for solar energy systems

​​Steadysun software enables, with a high degree of precision, the energy that can be generated by solar power plants across the globe.

Solar energy is intermittent and unpredictable and therefore difficult to predict and manage. Data relating to the productivity of solar power stations is valuable and is needed by network managers and traders in electricity in order for them to be effective. Steadysun sells them this information which forecasts the power output of their plant based on their location/technical specification, and the degree of forecasting necessary (from a few minutes to several days) via a subscription model.

The software developed by Steadysun is based on the result of five years of R&D. Supplemented by satellite images, weather forecasting data, and production data, the forecasts combine a mixture of physical and statistical approaches to ensure high levels of accuracy. The information provided by the start-up can be used for a wide variety of solar technology including photovoltaic, thermodynamic, concentrator photovoltaics, across the world.

Created in 2013, Steadysun has two exclusive licence agreements for patents and research contract in place with the CEA that is enabling the company to further advance its R&D strategy.
The start-up has already raised 500K€ in fundraising in 2014 and already has a pan-European client portfolio.
